Participated in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting – Davos Open Forum

Participated in the Open Forum Held Alongside the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026 in Davos, Switzerland
From January 19 to 23, 2026, we attended the Open Forum held in conjunction with the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland.
Davos serves as a global hub for dialogue where political, economic, and social leaders from around the world gather to discuss pressing global challenges and explore pathways toward the future.
This year, approximately 3,000 participants from more than 130 countries came together to engage in discussions on complex and often unsolved issues such as climate change, inequality, and social division from a wide range of perspectives.
The theme of WEF 2026 was:
“A Spirit of Dialogue.”
Rather than deepening divisions through conflict, the forum emphasized the importance of fostering mutual understanding through dialogue and collaboratively shaping the future.
This theme raised a deeply essential question for modern society, which continues to struggle with polarization and distrust.
Throughout the forum, we witnessed many moments where genuine dialogue — in which people opened their hearts and respected each other’s backgrounds and perspectives — became a driving force for social change.

The World Is Growing Tired of Competitive Communication

Today, society is increasingly exhausted by forms of communication centered around competition and confrontation:

Arguing over who is right on social media

Treating discussions as battles to determine winners and losers

Communication rooted in conflict

Conversations driven by harsh words and denial

In contrast, what is now being called for is dialogue that discovers the strengths of others, respects differences, and encourages one another.
Harmony, empathy, sensitivity to atmosphere, and the ability to build relationships without conflict — these qualities have long been deeply embedded in Japanese culture as something ordinary and natural.
Yet internationally, these very qualities are now being recognized as essential values for the future.

The “Dialogue” That Fun Fan Chat Has Always Valued

At Fun Fan Chat, we have consistently focused on the quality of dialogue itself.
What we value most is:

Dialogue that opens the heart

Creating spaces where people feel safe expressing their true feelings

Experiences where individuals feel genuinely understood

This is not communication aimed at defeating others in debate or simply arriving at the “correct” answer.
Furthermore, dialogue within Fun Fan Chat is not limited to conversations with others. It also includes dialogue with oneself.

Feelings that have not yet become words

The voice of the subconscious

Possibilities that have not yet taken shape

Our approach to dialogue shines light on these invisible yet deeply important inner dimensions.
Fun Fan Chat seeks to reclaim and celebrate the uniquely Japanese style of dialogue and return its value to society in meaningful ways.

The Future Belongs Not to the Strongest, but to Those Who Can Support Others

One of the strongest realizations we experienced in Davos was this:

“The future will not belong to the strongest people,
but to those who are able to support and uplift others.”

Dialogue that begins with small everyday conversations gradually builds trust, spreads empathy, and creates connections that transcend division.
Moving forward, we will continue connecting people through dialogue and presenting society with new possibilities for a better future.
The insights and experiences gained in Davos will continue to shape our future activities and communications with the world.
